Originally the youth group began as just “Glue” on a Friday night for high schoolers. As it grew, naturally a Sunday morning group formed, aptly named “Stick”. Together, “Gluestick” formed the Friday and Sunday youth ministries at this church.
Over the years the logo has had many variations due to the turnover of volunteers. So for its new leaders manual booklet, an official logo was requested.
The previous logos were not coherent to the identity of the youth group. So I decided to use the idea of a glue stick in my logo design. The main logo for the youth group depicts a closed cap glue stick. When the cap is off, a green glue stick appears. As the youth group consists of two groups divided by age group, the colours of each of their glue sticks are the colours needed to make the main logo colour. So to form the green glue stick, you need a blue and yellow glue stick mixed together.
