Each sermon series requires a design that succinctly communicates the true essence of the series in a visually appealing form.
When I receive the design request, I first start by understanding the nature of the request. This might include the meaning of the series title, the subtitle, and the overall impact or emotion the series is meant to evoke in the audience.
For example, the Song of Songs book takes place within a metaphor of a garden, so the series banner evokes a lush, bountiful but mysterious glimpse into a garden. The sermon series consists of five “episodes” that follows a structure much like a play; i.e. it has a prologue, acts I, II, III and an epilogue. Each sermon has a title banner that reflects the part of the story that it corresponds to. However, the story is not what it seems. As it descends into ruin, so do the banners until it reaches it’s end in the epilogue where it returns to the garden. For a more immersive experience, I also created a short 8 second intro video that played before each sermon and animated sermon slides (not pictured here).
